THE CURRICULUM
The six year Curriculum provided by the College begins with a three year Junior Certificate Cycle, which offers the following core subjects:
IRISH, ENGLISH, MATHEMATICS, RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, FRENCH, HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, BUSINESS STUDIES, SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, CSPE (Civic, Social and Political Education), RSE (Relationship and Sexuality Education), PHYSICAL EDUCATION and SWIMMING
plus one of the following option subjects;
GERMAN, SPANISH, HOME ECONOMICS, ART, TECHNICAL GRAPHICS, MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY (Woodwork) and MUSIC
* In First Year pupils are taught in mixed ability classes. Classes in Irish, English and Mathematics are individually set in Second and Third Year.
Following Third Year all pupils progress to Transition Year. Transition Year is firmly established in the College. It serves as a sound academic platform from which to progress to the Leaving Certificate and as a preparation for the world of work and adult life. Whilst continuing with the core curriculum, this Year offers pupils the opportunities to explore new fields of interests and subjects such as:

Pupils are introduced to Leaving Certificate type material and the Career Guidance Department administer Aptitude Tests to ensure pupils make informed subject choices for Senior Cycle.

ACADEMIC FACILITIES:
The College has realised a major Development Plan which culminated in the construction of a new College Wing. This contains three large Seminar Rooms and a purpose built Support Learning Centre. Improvements were made to the CAD, Materials Technology (Woodwork) and Technical Graphics facilities and the Information Technology Department. This development is an enhancement to our existing specialist facilities of: 4 Science Laboratories, Computer Room, Home Economics Room, Art Room, Lecture Hall, Media Studies Room, Library, R.E. Room and Concert Hall.
PASTORAL CARE:
The College Staff work together to create a caring and supportive environment which is concerned with the welfare of each individual pupil. To this end a comprehensive Support Structure is in place consisting of Form Masters, Class Tutors, Chaplaincy Team, Guidance Counsellors, Matron, Study Monitors, Study Skills and Supervised Study. Our Development Plan has provided us with a new School Oratory, Pastoral Care Centre and Meditation Room.
PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS:
Partnership with parents in the education of their children is an integral part of our philosophy and mission. Frequent contact is maintained with parents through:
Academic Reports.
Parent/Teacher Meetings.
Written communications between College and home.
Pupils Journal.
Informal meetings with parents at various College events throughout the year.
General Parents Meetings throughout the year.
The Parents Association plays a vital role in the life of the College through their involvement in many College activities and regular communication with College Management.
Sports and Sports Facilities
A wide range of sports is available, for all pupils at all levels. These include: Rugby, Badminton, Tennis, Athletics, Cross Country, Cricket, Golf, Swimming and Karate, Gaelic Football, Hurling and Soccer. We enjoy a strong sporting tradition and have earned many successes in this area largely due to the excellent facilities we have to offer:

TIMETABLE:
Classes begin at 8.45 a.m. and end at 4.00 p.m. daily, except for Wednesday when classes end at 1.00 p.m. Pupils may avail of the Colleges Canteen facilities during lunchtime. Typically, pupils would be involved in co-curricular activities on a number of afternoons during the week. Supervised Study is also available for Senior Cycle pupils every weekday evening.
FEES:
The College Fees are set each year by the College Management and are paid either by Direct Debit, in eight equal instalments, or in one payment at the start of the academic year.
The fees for the Academic Year 2008/2009 are as follows:
Junior School 4,400
Senior School 4,200
Brothers in the College at the same time:
In the case of families with two brothers in the College a discount of 800 will be allowed. Each additional brother will be allowed a discount of 1,200.
A Personal Accident Insurance Scheme is included in the fees. The cover under this scheme is for School Activity only. Terms and conditions apply, details are available on request.
