Rugby Exchange with New Zealand

This exchange was set up in 1999 and each year since then two pupils are selected to go and represent the school in New Zealand. The school in New Zealand with whom we exchange with is St. John’s College in Hamilton. They are a Marist school with a proud tradition in rugby but are also renowned for basketball among other sports.

This exchange is a chance for those boys who participate to experience another culture be it Ireland or New Zealand. The boys get to sample all aspects of life in the respective countries. The return from the exchange with many stories and friendships formed which we hope will flourish for many years to come.

We are indebted to the families who have hosted the boys on both sides as without their patience and understanding this exchange would not be possible.
