TRANSITION YEAR DRAMA GROUP

For the last five years, the Transition Year Drama Group has taken part in the National Transition Year Drama Festival. Each year a short play is written and directed by the pupils themselves with some help from one or two “experienced “ fifth years.

Past productions have included “Consequences” and “Any other Day” which dealt with issues such as suicide, homosexuality and even murder! We have also had a play by Kevin McGovern  (2005) called “Homer’s Iliad” based on the Classical epic “Helen of Troy”.

For the last three years we have gotten through to the semi-finals and the students always put great effort into the production.

This year's students are performing an extract from "Fawlty Towers". The first round will be held on Monday, 5th of February 2007, in Dominican College. Blackrock. Best of luck to our budding actors !!
